Scott market (yangon) yangon which literally means end-of -strife is the capital of myanmar and also the gateway to myanmar. It is a courteous once-colonial city, laid out in a conventional "colonial grid" pattern similar to a chessboard, planned by the british city planners. Yangon is proud of the soaring gold-crusted shwedagon pagoda, which is best known for its splendour and awe-inspiring greatness. Described by rudyardkipling (1898) as "a gorgeous, winking marvel that blazed in the sun, of a shape that was neither muslim dome nor hindu temple spire," shwedagon pagoda is the one of the most glorious monuments on earth. It is said to have been consturtced over 2,500 years ago and four relics of the four buddha are enshrined in it.
