The Wandiphodrang or Wangdi Dzong, in short is yet another picturesque valley that is hovering at an altitude of 1300 meters in the western Bhutan at the confluence of the Mo and Tang Rivers. This ancient valley was actually built to resemble a sleeping bull, is strikingly beautiful and comparatively warmer. Wandiphodrang is said to be the most charming of all Dzongs in Bhutan and is affluent in flora and fauna. The rare and the most unusual species found in the vale include barking deer, wild boar, sambar, Himalayan black bear, leopard, red fox, and the nomadic birds such as cranes that flies down from Tibet during winters.
