Shopping is the main attraction of Varanasi. Therefore, there remains no chance whether to shop or not. There is long list of items famous in Varanasi like Banarasi Sari, hand-knotted carpets, “Langdaa Aam”(a kind of mango), musical instruments, handicrafts and lot other things. The main markets in Varanasi are Gyan vapi, Chowk, Thatheri Bazaar, Vishwanath Gali, Lahuabir, Godoulia and Golghar. But, especially for buying supreme quality silk, you should go to Temple Bazaar situated in Vishwanath Gali. Thatheri Bazaar is famous for brassware and for buying golden ornaments, then visit Gyanvapi and temple bazaar. Also, don’t forget to buy “Ganga Jal” bottle or in jerrycans from the bank of the river Ganga.
