Pushkar is the main hub of ancient temples in Rajasthan and Varah Temple is also part of it. This awesome temple is also dedicated to Lord Varah, the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu. There is a VarahGhat near the temple which is also very pious and highly visited by visitors. Though the temple had undergone through several destructions, yet it retains its complete fascination. Basically, the temple was constructed by Raja AnajiChauhan in the year between 1123 and 1150. It was Ghaznis who first destroyed the temple and then followed by Aurangzeb. Finally, in the year 1727, the temple was rebuilt by Raja Sawai jai Singh II, Jaipur. Other than historical aspect, the temple also has a very popular legend which is also quite alluring.
