Travel Within Rishikesh

Many places in Rishikesh can be reached by walking only.  Walking around the city on foot will give you an interesting experience about the place. This is a small and one can travel the whole town on foot. However auto rickshaws are available to cover longer distances, particularly from bus stations to reach the city centre. Auto rickshaw charges are here around Rs 15 per km. There are no metered auto rickshaws and the rates are negotiable. There are no distinct fares for traveling in the nights.

Local buses also ply on the main roads of the city and one can travel by buses to cover main areas of interest. They run frequently and are very cheap modes of transportation.
