The political city of India’s Mughal Empire FatehpurSikri was built by Akbar in 1571 in honour of Sufi saint SalimChishti. ShaikhSalim was a Chishti saint lived in this village came into focus when he correctly predicted the birth of Akbar’s son Jahangir. The tomb of saint Chisti is made of white marble and is enclosed with a pool. The place is one of the sacred pilgrimage spots of Agra and devotees from all around the country come here. It is believed that childless women come here and tie a thread as a remainder of her unfulfilled desire to become mother and they untie it when the wish is granted.
