Located only at the distance of 91 kms from Nagpur, Todaba National Park is one of the main national parks situated in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The main motto of establishment of this national park was to preserve the tigers and got a title of tiger reserve in the year 1993 though it was declared as the national park in 1955. Todaba National Park is rightly entitled as “Jewel of Vidarbha” and it is so because of being the paradise for lovers of wildlife. The national park got its name as “Todaba” which is the name of local deity – “Taru”. The reserve has approximately 50 tigers and is also home to other animals like gaun, ratel, hyenas, flying squirrel, etc.
