Thikkoti Light House, Kozhikode, Kerala - Historical monuments and wonderful views
One of the most enthralling historical monuments in Kozhikode is Thikkoti Light House which is located at the distance of 30 kms from Kozhikode. Being historical, this site also has glorious past and many legends are attached to this place. According to one myth, it is believed that the Thikkoti Light House was constructed on the left-over of a shipwreck. This all supposed to be happened in 1847 and physically, the light house is 33.5 meters in height. It will give you great cherishing moments if you make up the mind to go upside by climbing the stairs which are quite winded. Little bit frightening but is great experience to meet with!! For this, you have to take prior permission.
