The Falkirk Wheel is said to be the only rotating boatlift in the world and is an engineering marvel of 21^st century. The boatlift is mainly used to re-connect the Forth & Clyde and Union canals in central Scotland and the state-of-the-art engineering is a truly inspiring wonder situated in a rustic amphitheater at Rough Castle. The wheel can haul more than eight boats at a time and consumes 60 minutes to complete its trip.
