Scenic

Texel is the biggest and south westernmost of the Dutch Wadden isles. It's a good idea to go on an excursion but Texel has so much to offer that you won't lament making an excursion for several days.  Though comparatively close to the mainland, Texel isle has conserved much of its unique character just because of its age-long splendidseclusion. The island's primary source of income apart from the tourist trade is agriculture largely sheep farming. Cheese is produced both from ewes' milk and from cows' milk and is famous for its well-known Texelaar cheese. The sandy mount in the hub of the isle was occupied in Neolithic times.
