St Theresa Church, Kalimpong, West Bengal - Religious belief and architectural grandeur
One of the largest Catholic Churches in the entire West Bengal is situated in Kalimpong and named as St. Theresa Church. The church is located only at the distance of 3 kms away from the city center. If we talk of its attraction and enticing features, then the first and foremost point that hits is its construction in Buddhist Gompa style architecture. Also, the carvings done on wood are akin to the figures of Buddhist Monks. In single phrase, it’s construction style was highly influenced by the Buddhist culture. Therefore, it is believed that this church was built by some local folks only. Other than Church, one could also enjoy here the mind-boggling views of Himalayan ranges covered with snow!!
