Sheshnetra is a famous holy site at a distance of 1.5 from Badrinath. There is a large stone marked with an eye of a legendary snake giving the place the name of Sheshnetra. The mythological legend says that Lord Vishnu took his retreat on a snake named as Anantha Shesha. The amazing thing to be noticed about this site is that the rock holds the natural imprints of this snake which is believed to guard the holy temple of Badrinath. Apart from religious importance, the site also beckons the visitors due to its captivating charm and beauty as the place is bounded by two magnificent lakes and the holy River Alaknanda in the backdrop.
