Lake Kinneret (The Biblical Sea of Galilee) is a humid, monolithic lake, sited at the northern end of the Afro. The Sea of Galilee or the Kineret as it is famous in Hebrew is a good size fresh water lake. In fact it is the biggest basin of drinking water in Israel. At 685 feet under sea level, it is the lowest freshwater lake on the planet. The lake has played a main role in the life of Jesus and has become quite an attraction for Christian pilgrimage. According to the Christian tradition, Jesus performed some of his miracles, like walking on the water, in or around the lake.
