Santa Cruz Basilica is the most ancient cathedral in Kochi and it is also part of among the eight top Churches in India. In 1505, this gorgeous church was constructed by Francesco de Almeida, the first viceroy. Unfortunately, in 1663, this church was also destroyed during the invasion of Dutch but later on in 1887, the church was reconstructed by Bishop Dom Joao Gomes Ferreira.
