Royal British Columbia Museum, Canada - Royal British Columbia Museum

Scenic, Museum

The Royal BC Museum is in downtown Victoria on the Inner Harbour and is near the Parliament buildings and the Empress Hotel. It has a collection of more than 7 million objects and documents and also dwells an IMAX Theatre. The "Royal" title was approved by Queen Elizabeth II and bestowed by HRH Prince Philip in 1987, to concur with a Royal tour of that year. The museum includes three main galleries. The First Peoples Gallery divulges information about the area both before and after the advent of Europeans. The Modern History Gallery is constructed to give you a sense of the recent past with visual and audio history. The Natural History Gallery looks at the changing milieu of the region.
