Rang Mahal is a beautiful monumental structure and a must visit tourist attraction in Chamba. Renowned as one of the largest monuments of the place, it was built by Raja Umed Singh in 1860. Entirely made by using bricks, the palace showcases an interesting blend of Mughal and British architecture. This splendid palace once served as the residence of the royal families of the region but now has been taken over by the State’s Handicrafts Department. The magnificent doors, splendid paintings and interesting artworks of the palace are now preserved at the Bhuri Singh Museum of Chamba.
