Rajghat is a historic ghat of Old Delhi which is a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation under open sky while an eternal flame burns perpetually at one end. The memorial has the epitaph Hey Ram, which were supposed to be the last words spoken by him. In order to show respect it is a customary to open the shoes before visiting the ghat. The memorial has gone through a number of design changes. Among all the attractions in Delhi, Raj Ghat is one of the major and most visited spots.
