Built in 1962, the Punjab AgriculturalUniversity is located in the outskirts of Ludhiana city as a replica of the Land Grant of America. It houses a beautiful museum that is one of the most important educationalattractions in the town. The museum mainly exhibits the rural life and culture of Punjabis with the help of local arts, crafts and ancient items displayed there. It has a wonderful collection of Harappan pottery, coins, house-hold equipments, musical instruments, dresses, footwear and traditional jewelry. Here the visitors can see a rich collection of exquisite handicrafts and artistic items. The popular ‘kisan mela’ is organized here every year that displays different kinds of farming equipments and utensils.
