Prakasam Barrage is a long bridge constructed over the Krishna River and is a marvelous specimen of modern architecture and engineering. This 1223.5 m long structure is a modern regulator cum bridge that connects Krishna and Guntur districts. Constructed in 1957, this bridge comprises of a railway track and a road and presents a beautiful sight across the river. With a huge lake and three canals along the Prakasam Barrage, a Venetian look has been given to the town. The water provided by the three long canals is used for agriculture and irrigation purposes and is delivered to the different parts of the state.
