Also known as the Indira Gandhi Planetarium, the Patna Planetarium is situated in the Indira Gandhi Science Complex. It was established on March 21, 1993 by the Department of Science and Technology, Bihar Government. It is counted among one of the largest planetariums in Asia and attracts hordes of tourists every year. An added feature is the regular showing of astronomical films to the audiences. The Planetarium stands at a prime location in the city on Bailey Road which is at a distance of 8 km from the airport, 1.5 km from the railway station and just 2 km from the Government bus stand.
