Also known as Saif Khan’s mosque, Chimni Ghat Mosque and Sangi Masjid, this picturesque mosque is situated on the banks of the river Ganges. It was built in 1621 by Parvez Shah, Jahangir’s son and elder brother of Shah Jahan and served as the residence of this first Mughal prince who made Bihar his home. It is built of stone and hence the name, Pathar ki Masjid. The local Islamic community throngs the place especially on occasions of religious functions organised at this major landmark of the city. The Takht Shri Harmandir Saheb is situated close to the mosque.
