Dwelling an area of 800 square meters, the Macau Maritime Museum was constructed on the site where the first group of Portuguese travelers landed on Macau in 1553. Engorged in 1990, the museum pursues the characteristic museum outlines of a European style. The displays discover main themes in the history of the marine diligence in Macau, China and Portugal. The main structure of the museum is a three-storey pasty building, built in the shape of a boat in bursting sail. Big glass windowpanes offer the chimera of a surveillance tower of a boat. From a distance, the museum structure emerges to be a regal boat securing at the serene harbor.
