Mangla Devi Temple, Thekkady, Kerala - An ancient temple located amidst the national park

Located at an altitude of about 1337 from sea level, the temple is 15 km away from the main city of Thekkady. Nestled amidst dense forests of Periyar National Park, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Mangla. It is an old beautiful temple of the state which is built in traditional Pandian style of architecture and attracts a number of devotees from all the corners of the country. The temple is open to the visitors during Chitra Pournami Festival only which is held in the month of May every year. For reaching the temple, jeeps from Kumily are available for the visitors.
