Renowned as the oldest Vaishnavite temples in South India and an important religious destination of India, the Mangalagiri is a must visit place in the city. The temple was built in the 18th century and the presiding deity of this shrine is Sri Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy. Towards the right of the temple, there is a stone inscription made by Sri Krishna deva Rai of Vijayanagar. And going certain steps beyond, you will find the foot prints of Chaitnya Mahaprabhu. At the top of the hill, there is the temple of Lord Panakala Laskhmi Narsimha Swamy where a number of devotees come every year to seek the blessings of the God.
