Located in the heart of the city of Pune, Mahatma Phule Museum was established in the year 1875. At the present time, the museum is known as Mahatma Phule Vastu Sangrahalaya. It exhibits marble statues, brassware items, stone carvings, and oil paintings. It also displays many other artefacts like textile and jewellery items, arms and armoury, handicrafts, items related to geology, agriculture, forestry, and natural history too. Besides the artefacts, the museum has a well-maintained library with a rare collection of books from all walks of life. The museum acts as a source of information and knowledge exchange.
