One of the most ancient temples in Mysore is Mahabaleshwar temple. This holy place is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the people from different places come here to bend their heads in front of God Shiva. This temple is situated just right to the Chamundeshwari temple in Mysore. Ganga Kings were the power to built this magnificent temple during the 8th century and then, the temple got its reconstruction done by the Hosala kings. Chola kings also had their involvement in this temple as the idols of Lord in bronze metal were of their time. The main attraction of this temple is its architectural style which highlights the perfect mingling of two styles – Hosala and Ganga.
