Vishwanath Temple, Gangotri, Uttarakhand - A famous temple dedicated to Lord Vishwanath
Vishwanath Temple is also a famous temple in Uttarkashi and holds its description in the Skanda Purana. Dedicated to God Vishwanath, it houses a Shivlinga which is 60 cms tall and 90 cms in circumference. The temple is believed to be dated back to several centuries ago and is said to be built by Parashuram. It was renovated by Maharani Khaneti in 1857. A number of devotees visit the sacred temple from all across the country.
