Van Vihar National Park, covering an area of 445 hectares, is situated on a magnificent hillock in the hub of Bhopal city. This national park is famous for its great variety of carnivorous and herbivorous species. Therefore, it is not at all wrong to address this national park as a Zoo because it is a home to wide variety of animals. In 1983, this Van Vihar was declared as a national park. The main feature of this park is that herbivorous animals are kept open and they can be seen roaming here and there but the carnivorous animals can be moved only within the trenched areas. Also, you can see animals of endangered species in this national park.
