Dated back to the 17th century, the Uma Nanda Temple is located on a beautiful river island. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple was built by an Ahom king named Gadapani. Dotted with a breathtaking atmosphere and scenic surrounding, the place is also known as the Peacock Island which is also home to the endangered golden langurs. Nearby the temple lies the Ganesh Temple which is also visited by the devotees on the island. Both the temples can be reached by taking a ferry or motorboat from the ghat of the river.
