Taxis are also quite popular modes of transport among the tourists in the region. They do not run on meters hence it is advisable to negotiate the fare in advance. It is easily available and also safer means of transport even for night journey also.

Garhwal is a hilly region and most of the tourist attractions are located on hill top where the vehicles are not allowed. Hence, pony rides are quite popular to reach the required destination and are exciting too. However, the best medium to explore the natural splendors of the region is on foot only.
