food-of-Tirupati

Being a Hindu city, Tirupati offers majorly vegetarian restaurants serving vegetarian cuisine. The canteens here are entirely run by the trusts that sell food packets available at subsidized price. Fresh milk is sold by the Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Corporation. Places to eat include Nitya Anna Dana Hall, Balaji Woodlands, the Saptagiri Woodlands Restaurant and Woodside Restaurant among others.

  • Nitya Anna Dana Hall: as this is a temple hotel near 1 km from the worship place, the food is basic free meal of vegetable dishes, rice, chutney, sambhar, rasam and buttermilk. Around 25,000 pilgrims eat here daily, with the food served either on banana leaves or stainless steel plates on the table
  • Balaji Woodlands: this hotel is worth visiting for its cleanliness and a better option for eating South Indian tiffin meals. The hotel is near to the bazaar
  • The Saptagiri Woodlands Restaurant: recommended mostly for its spicy and tasty South Indian vegetarian snacks and meals, one can taste the must eat cuisines, like the long dosa and the pesarattu
  • Woodside Restaurant: with delicious meals served here, the prices are quite affordable and worth eating at
  • Bhimas Paradise: this place is worthy of a visit for its different  variety of cuisine served other than South Indian cuisine, like Mughlai, Chinese and North Indian dishes
