Tampere in finnish, Tammerfors in Swedish, this is the third conurbation largest conurbation in Finland with more than 200.000 inhabitants in the area. Tampere is in the south of Finland, just 160 kilometers away from Helsinki. The conurbation is bordered by lakes and the Tammerkoski rapids. In fact, it is situated on a peninsular between lakes Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi, which you can see from the mount of Pyynikki, near the centre of the metropolis. Among the interesting buildings in Tampere are The Old Church, a gorgeous stilted building situated at the Central Square, Alexander church, the Orthodox church, and the relics of some factories all made of red bricks and most of them turned into leisure centers and restaurants.
