Sun Temple, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir - A medieval temple dedicated to God Sun
The famous Sun temple is dedicated to Lord Sun also known as Bhaskar. This medieval temple in Ladakh was built by King Lalitaditya to worship the Sun God. The main shrine of this place houses a colonnaded courtyard and 84 columns which were used to built the temple. The entire shrine is built by hard square shaped limestone that reflects the unique architectural excellence of the medieval times.
