The submarine beach in Vizag is called as INS Kurusura. A Russian put up a submarine for the Indian Navy which is later converted to museum. The conversion of the submarine Navy to museum took place on 27th of Feb 2001. In 1970, it was a brought into use by the Indian Defense and it served the protection purpose. Later the submarine was bought to the land of Ramakrishna Beach and it was positioned on a concrete groundwork for converting it to a museum. It’s the first submarine museum in Asia and the second largest submarine museum in the world. The aim of the museum is to create awareness among people about the submarines work that happened during the war period.
