Among the numerous religious sites in Chennai for the followers of Christianity, St. Mary’s Church is one of the not to be missed sacred place. This beautifully constructed church speaks a lot about the architectural standard of British era without uttering a single word. It is also very dignified church because of being an ancient Anglican Church East of Suez. This magnificent church was constructed in 1680 which taken good care by the Archaeological Survey of India. Actually, the outline of this church was drawn by William Dixon, the Britisher but later on modified by Colonel Gent. Whoever was the founder of this church, but reality is that it adds a lot to tourism in Chennai.
