Dedicated to Saint John, the church was founded in 1844 during the British rule. Known as 'The Church of St. John' is located on the northern end of the city Nainital. The church is set amidst the wilderness and isolation of the mountains and is designed in the traditional European Style. The interior of the church is very beautiful and the unique design on the stained glass windows makes it more stunning and striking. The church is the oldest and strongest building in the city with architecture of the old centuries. There is a graveyard behind the church where many English and local Christians are buried.
