The most northern of Ionian Isles, Corfu makes a dream family destination. With the country's best weather, both the island's foliage and tourist figures thrive. Located in Achilleon, and constructed in 1892, Sissi's Palace is a gorgeous Corfu day trip laden with incredible views and stunning gardens. The palace was erected by Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, also famous as Sissi. She had the palace build on top of the mountain overlooking the sea on one side, and the mountain ranges on the other, with the legendary hero Achilles as its central theme. Inside the bastion you can visit the museum that houses the leftovers that Sissi collected, and her portraits.
