This is a famous Satra of Majuli and a chief centre of Vaishmavism in Assam. Shamaguri Satra is served as a popular centre of art, culture and classical studies and is mainly known for its interesting mask crafts and artworks. The Satra hold a special significance in terms of exquisite craftsmanship and the old art of mask making is taught here. In order to reach this Satra, one can take a ferry from Nimati Ghat to the island of Majuli.
