Nestled between the Rivers Peechkali and Gomati, this beautiful bird sanctuary lies adjacent to the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve. Home to a variety of regional and migratory bird species, it is one of the foremost attractions for the bird watchers in Sundarbans. Several colorful bird species such as egrets, herons, kingfishers, sandpipers, plovers, white bellied sea eagle, whimbrels, curfews and lapwings etc can be spotted in the sanctuary. In addition, the tourists can also see the Mangrove Interpretation Centre and a visitors’ Centre where a crocodile enclosure and a shark pond is built. It also has a breeding colony for herons.
