Scenic, Mountaineering, Monuments

Rose Hill, stuck between Beau Bassin and QuatreBornes in the middle of the Central Plateau metropolis, is practically a hamlet of Port Louis and a major cultural centre for Mauritius. The township sits at the base of the imposing Corps de Garde mountain and retains a few interesting old buildings from the colonial epoch. It also has repute as a cheap place to shop, chiefly for imported Indian textiles. Most places of interest are strung out alongside Royal Rd, which is Rose Hill’s main main road. The crossroads with Vandermeersch St marks the town centre, where you’ll find the bus station and the main shopping malls as well as several basic restaurants and food stalls.
