Recognized as the birth place of Lord Rama, Ram JanamaBhumi is an important attraction to be visited in Ayodhya. The place also holds an equivalent significance for the Muslims as Babri Masjid, a famous mosque built by Babar, was also located adjacent to the shrine of Rama. It was destroyed in 1992 that lead to a disastrous communal violence but before it both Hindus and Muslims used to pray at the site with peace and harmony. Presently along with the sacred shrine of Lord Rama, the ruins of Masjid can be seen nearby.
