Also, referred as Holkar Palace, Rajwada is one of the most enchanting sites of Indore. Located in the hub of city, Rajwada is the historical site that served as a home to Holkar dynasty past two-century. The charisma of structure of Rajwada is really spell-binding and being a seven-storied palace, it offers a magnificent glimpse. One could witness perfect blend of three architectural styles at this palace – Maratha, Mughal and French. Nowadays, the palace serves as the perfect place for conducting music concerts and art exhibitions also. In its lifetime of 200 years, the palace got ruined for three times and finally, when it got burnt in 1984, major section of the palace was destructed and only the front portico remained. It got refurbished by the management gradually.
