Phuentsholing is the point of entry for travellers arriving by bus from Kolkata and Siliguriand the town functions mostly as a place where Bhutanese and Indians do business. The architecture is contemporary, and there is no dzong, famous monastery or in fact anything of particular interest to tourists. Phuentsholing is the border township located in the Chhukha district in western Bhutan. It is also the sole conurbation that connects India with Bhutan through road. It is the commercial centre and financial capital of Bhutan. Only Indian nationals are approved to cross over to Phuentsholing without a visa.
