Patalpuri Temple, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh - Religious belief
Patalpuri Temple is the main Hindu Temple and is located within the premises of Allahabad Fort. This magnificent temple was constructed during Vedic Age and it is underground built temple. According to old beliefs, it is believed that the temple was visited by Lord Rama. Also, later on in 634 A.D., Hieun Tsang, the famous Chinese traveler, also came to this place. Situated in proximity to Akshayavat tree, this famous temple has finely carved idols of different Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The temple could not be visited without prior permission from the Ordinance Depot or may be from the Tourist Office.
