Scenic, Picnic, Garden, Bird Watching

Situated along the banks of River Bharali, this research station is sprawled in an area of about 112 acres in the district of West Kameng. It was established in 1972 as an orchidarium and displays 425 colorful species of endangered orchids. At the entrance of the orchidarium, one can see a beautifully decorated board with the title ‘Temple of Orchids’. The main reason behind the establishing of this place was to conserve various orchid species in their natural habitat and today it houses more than 50,000 orchids on display. Moreover, one of the prime attractions here is the Orchid Glass House that displays around 1000 exotic orchids in pots or hanging baskets. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful place to be seen in the region.
