Namo Buddha or Takmo Lujin is a sanctified place for the Buddhists. The Stupa located just off to the downtown Kathmandu is visited by scores of pilgrims every year. The legend associated with this Buddhist legend, the King Mahasattva gave his body to a starving tigress at this place. His reliquary Stupa remained subversive for centuries. One day a recluse called Bhagavan (Sakyamuni) came to this place and got attracted to the protuberance. It is said that he clapped his hands, and astoundingly the Stupa emerged. Going by this legend, this Stupa enshrines the bones and hair of the Buddhist recluse who died practicing the deeds of a Bodhisattva. Thengboche Monastery is the highest elevated monastery in Nepal.
