The temple is dedicated to Goddess Naina and attracts people who especially seek spirituality. In the 15th Century during the Kushan reign, the temple was originally constructed. The deity of Goddess Naina is represented by two large almond shaped eyes flanked by Mata Kali and Lord Ganesha on the other side. The temple is situated on the bank of deep Lake Naini which adds charm to the surroundings and was built by Moti Ram Shah. The temple’s name Naina means eye of sati and it is believed that the eye of Sati was dropped on the very spot.
