Established in 1676, Mindrolling is a renowned monastery of the Nyingma sect. Mindrolling, which means "Place of Perfect Emancipation" in Tibetan language, is a monastery which witnessed several attacks and natural calamities. It is one of the largest Buddhist Vihars in India and its present structure is the contribution of Khochhen Rinpoche. This monastery is dedicated to learning the Buddhist scriptures and other fields like Tibetan lunar calendar, astronomy, Traditional Tibetan medicine, and calligraphy. For more than 300 years, the Monastery has been training the upcoming monks and yogis. The head of this Monastery inspires people who believe in the preaching of the Buddha.
