Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur, Rajasthan - One of the largest forts with intricate carvings
Jodhpur is world wide famous for its Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest and massive forts in Jodhpur. The gigantic fort is located on a high hill of 150 m just 5 kms away from Jodhpur. In 1459, Rao Jodha initiated the construction of this magnificent fort but unfortunately the fort did not get completed during his lifetime. The main attraction of this fort is to cross seven gates and then one can reach the fort. The remains of the battles fought can be seen on the gates in form of marks. The fort has lot to offer for its visitors like galleries, temples, the Pearl Palace, etc.
