One of the many historic buildings present in the garden city of Bangalore is the Mayo Hall. This historic hall was named after the fourth viceroy of the dependent India. His name was Richard Bourke, the 6th Earl of the County of Mayo. It is located on the M.G. Road. The making of this hall was started in the year 1875 and it ended in 1883. A total of Rs45000 was spent on making this hall. The arches and windows are excellent specimens of architecture. Many council meetings have their venue here and a few traffic court functioning are done from here.
